Vybz Kartel Ordered to Pay $15 million

It seams as if charges and legal woes are raining in on controversial artiste vybz kartel from all angles, as he was today ordered by the supreme court to pay $15million in damages to promoter Alton Salmon.
Jamaican Promoter Alton Salmon filed a law suit against Vybz Kartel after he failed to show for an event in Turks and Caicos Island in August 2009.
  According to Jamaica Gleaner News Paper, Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer was served with the court documents on December 23, 2009 in relation to the suit.
Kartel then failed to file acknowledgement of service or to make any attempt to defend the suit.
A default judgment was entered against Kartel and the matter set for assessment of damages.
Supreme Court Judge Martin Gayle heard evidence today and assessed damages which totalled $15 million with interest.

Vybz Kartel is also facing two murder charges and one conspiracy to pervert the course of law and one ganja charge.
